Obviously it was put together hastily to capitalise on the instant success of "Kokomo", but the best songs on the album end up being the classics that are inserted at the end. Average all up.

When this album came out, two massive events happened within the band....1. Brian had quit the Beach Boys and went solo, 2. The band had their biggest hit since the 60's with "Kokomo".

That success set up this new album, it's a mish-mash of new original tracks, previously released singles and three classic tracks (from the 60's) that had featured in hit box office movies. Again the newer tracks are bland and nostalgic...and lack any creative juices that once distinguished this band as a leader in contemporary music.

The only thing that lifts this album is the fact there are three absolute classics on it, yet they feel so out of place on this album. Nostalgia was the new Beach Boys, and there's no wonder why Brian left to engage in a solo career....artists move forwards not backwards....
