Tip memorialising Phife and .Paak memorialising Mac is so extremely my brand that I'm pretty instantly on board. Nonetheless you gotta hand it to a song like this which can manage to feel so down to earth and honest. Q-Tip's verse in particular cuts so strongly because it doesn't try to come across as a flashy guest verse. It's honestly a bit awkward sounding as he tries to express his remorse for someone so dear. I'm sitting here not sure how to finish writing this review because it's just so tough to do. Even if you find the right words to say, it doesn't change the past, fate is a cruel beast like that. | |
