Golden *** ** Watermelon Sugar *** *** Adore You *** ** Lights Up *** ** Cherry *** ** Falling *** ** To Be So Lonely *** ** She *** ** Sunflower, Vol. 6 *** ** Canyon Moon *** * Treat People With Kindness *** ** Fine Line *** * 4.92 - 5* Kurz vor Jahresende kam mit "Fine Line" noch das zweite Album von Harry Styles, dem ehemaligen One Direction-Mitglied, raus. Sein selbstbetiteltes Debut war zwar solide, hat mich aber nicht gross begeistern können, dies ist bei "Fine Line" nun komplett anders. Während die Lead-Single "Lights Up" mir erst nicht gefiel, haben mir "Watermelon Sugar" und dann später "Adore You" überraschend gut gefallen und so war ich sehr optimistisch ab dem Album und wurde alles andere als enttäuscht. Hier hat es viele tolle Pop-Momente (die Singles, "Golden", "Treat People With Kindness"), aber auch die weniger massentauglichen Songs überzeugen im schönen Folk/Indie-Gewand ("Cherry", "She"). Harry scheint seinen eigenen Sound innert kurzer Zeit bereits gefunden zu haben und bringt dies hier äusserst sympathisch rüber. This album is very interesting but in a good way. I really enjoy the genre arrangements on here than his debut album. Lot of psychedelic and old school rock sounds on here but done it exceptionately well. Adore You is one of my favourite song ever and I am getting to like Watermellon Sugar as well. There were a few tracks I enjoy the most especially Treat People With Kindness, Sunflower, Vol.6 and Canyon Moon. For his follow up to what has to considered a really good debut Harry really does try to experiment with more sounds and tempos, while it eb's and flows through poppy bops it really doesn't hit any major high points as a package though. Some really strong efforts non the less with some really good single choices. 47/72 | |
